Rebekah Bailey 2nd Chance PT

The best gift in life is a second chance.

Second Chance is about finding hope when it seems that there is no hope. There may be many times when there is nothing but despair and your self-worth is so low that there doesn’t seem to be any way out.

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer a non-judgemental environment, in which to explore whatever is important to you. I believe that the relationship between practitioner and client is central to the therapeutic process. This website will provide you with an overview of my approach and inform you of the type of things I am able to help you with.

Rebekah Bailey

I trained at the Lancaster Campus of the University of Cumbria qualifying 2016 with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy. During my training, I was able to work with a range of clients in a variety of settings, which helped me develop a therapeutic style and approach. My knowledge has also been expanded via training with National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED), CADAS, Birchall Trust and SAFA Cumbria, as well as post-qualification voluntary work with mental health and counselling charities.

Person-centred counselling

The person-centred approach to counselling is based on creating a space for you to talk freely without judgement. This alone can provide relief from the stresses, strains and anxiety which you may be experiencing. Provision of empathy in a genuine way means you no longer need to feel alone, you have someone who is interested in you without pressure. When held inside thoughts can often become confusing. Being able to share, notice and be noticed in a safe space can start to unravel the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing, leading to clarification and a sense of relief.

My Approach & Philosophy

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer a non-judgemental environment, in which to explore whatever is important to you.

I believe that the relationship between the practitioner and the client is central to the therapeutic process.  This website will provide you with an overview of my approach and inform you of the type of things I am able to help you with.

Counselling and Psychotherapy

Trained in Person-Centred approach, I also hold a special interest in the nature of the relationship and the psychoanalytical model of attachment theory.

The Person-Centred approach is a form of therapy which is client led. I work with whatever you wish to bring, simply providing a safe space in which to help you explore the issues you feel are relevant to you.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). This means I work to an Ethical Framework which sets standards for working with my clients. I am also required to attend regular supervision and keep myself up-to-date via ongoing training.
