Permanently based in the Northwest of England, following a short career in science my first degree was in Environmental Chemistry. Battling through many years of alcoholism and an eating disorder distracted me from this path.
Throughout this time I had dreams but I never realised they could come true, and many times I lost totally lost hope. It was only through a spattering of words which became meaningfully motivating, that those dreams started to become reality.
During my recovery it gradually became clear that I wanted to retrain as a counsellor. I trained at the Lancaster Campus of the University of Cumbria qualifying 2016 with a Post-Graduate diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy. During my training I was able to work with a range of clients in a variety of settings, which helped me develop a therapeutic style and approach. My knowledge has also been expanded via training with National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED), CADAS, Birchall Trust and SAFA Cumbria, as well as post-qualication voluntary work with mental health and counselling charities.
My hobbies include yoga and weight training, aromatherapy, listening to live music. In my spare time I assist in the management of a counselling charity.
